The one with the straightjacket

About a month ago I bought a straightjacket from ebay.

I thought it’s be great for fancy dress parties, maybe with “PROPERTY OF ARKHAM” scrawled on it in black marker pen.

Then I thought, it’d be a great thing to get signed by the famous people at cons.. usually you’re allowed one personal item signed, and one ‘official’ thing you buy there, a photo or whatever.  I have stacks and stacks of signed photos, and nothing to do with them.  So thought it’s be cool (where cool = geeky) to take something unusual along to be signed.  And I thought a straightjacket would be unusual and cool.

But it turned out the straightjacket was no good for me, the ends of the sleeves were sewn shut, which would have made holding a drink too difficult .. and if I’m in fancy dress, I’m guaranteed to be drinking, So I sent it back to ebay and got a refund.

Which means I’m stuck again for someting unusual to get signed.  Other people bring along dvd cases, autograph books, posters etc ... I want something different ... and it has to be big enough that many many celebs can sign it, but small enough it’s not a problem to carry it around with me.

Any ideas? ... smile

Here's what some passing idiots had to say

Oooooooooooh! I’ve always wanted a straight jacket! How much did it cost?

  • Think I paid about £85 for it, but that was from a legit magic store, and the jacket included a gimick to make it escapable.  (Another reason I returned it ... I had figured that wearing a straighjacket as fancy dress whilst drunk would inevitably lead to me being strapped up ... so I was ready to teach myself how to escape from jackets ... the gimick just cheapened that and made it too easy).
If you search ebay for straight jackets there will be plenty of cheaper ones more suited to you (black pvc with nipple holes and gimp masks attached) ;p
